THE WORM'S HEAD
The Worm's Head, at Rhossili on the Gower in south Wales. Where Perseus turned the sea dragon to stone with Medusa’s head.
Britain is where the Greek myths are really set. The Irish Sea's the real Mediterranean, never mind what you're told. Hyperborea, they called Britain once. The land beyond the winds, off-limits. Treasure island, secret land of the dead, the great boundary line of the crack, where heroes come to slay dragons, where Oillipheist the dragon lives, where Jason stole the Golden Fleece from a sleeping dragon, where dragons guarded Hera's orchard of immortal apples on Anglesey which was once called Mona after Manannan Mac Lir, the Celtic sea god who also gave his name to the isles of Manhattan and Man.
